CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 19, 2001 <br />The City received a letter from Barry Sullivan regarding the rezoning law. Mr. Sullivan <br />did speak with Mr. Tremeer regarding this issue. Mr. Tremeer indicated the original <br />intent of the modifications to the law was to make residential rezonings easier. The <br />modifications do cover all types of rezoning. The only stipulation is that a 4/5 vote is still <br />required for a rezone from residential to commercial/industrial. A copy of the letter will <br />be included in the Friday updates. <br />Community Development Director Grochala reviewed the background of the segmented <br />parcel owned by JADT noting the City is looking at purchasing the entire piece for the <br />Marketplace project. The remnant piece would then be sold to Ryan, another piece sold <br />to McDonald's, and the road built on the remainder. A purchase agreement was <br />submitted to Mr. Baylor last week. Staff received the agreement back with many <br />changes. Staff has worked on the changes with Mr. Baylor and there are still two (2) <br />outstanding issues relating to the Casper property and the approval of the McDonald's site <br />plan in relation to the Casper property. <br />Community Development Director Grochala reviewed the site pl <br />noting the changes that have been made.
