CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 19, 2001 <br />recommended that Council have a closed meeting to discuss this issue due to pending <br />litigation. <br />CSAH 49 RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE, JOHN POWELL <br />City Engineer Powell introduced Mr. Dick Thompson, the facilitator for the Hwy. 49 <br />neighborhood meetings. <br />Mr. Thompson reviewed his employment background noting he attended the meeting <br />Monday night and has a sense of the issues that remain. <br />City Engineer Powell stated there were 35-40 residents present at the meeting. The <br />Monday night meeting was the first of a series of meetings that will run through <br />December. The process for the reconstruction project was reviewed and there was a good <br />exchange of information and concerns. The next meeting will be held October 1, 2001. <br />City Engineer Powell added residents did write down their three-(36+ncerns <br />relating to the project. If 10 - <br />acre parcels were sold there would not be enough profit made to cover all debts. A real <br />estate agent has indicated 2.5- acre parcels could be sold for more money and the integrity <br />of the property would still be maintained. He noted that by selling less of his land, he can <br />keep the majority of the land in the family. <br />Councilmember Carlson asked if the Metropolitan Council would allow this. City <br />Planner Smyser stated the subdivision would not comply with Metropolitan Council <br />policy or City policy. The lot size is the issue because it is zoned rural executive and that <br />does not allow less than 10 -acre parcels. <br />3 <br />
