COUNCIL MINUTES APRIL 22, 2002 <br />No one else was present for open mike. <br />FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT, AL ROLEK <br />There was no Finance Department report. <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />Consider Resolution No. 02 — 35, Establishing Precinct Boundaries, Polling Places and Adding <br />Two New Precincts and Polling Places Effective September 10, 2002, Dan Tesch — <br />Administration Director Tesch advised every ten years the nation's census is done to ensure that <br />representation in government remains equal among citizens. After the conclusion of the 2000 census <br />the Minnesota Legislature adjusted the boundaries of representative government. This process is <br />called "redistricting". <br />The Legislative and Congressional redistricting plans were relea <br />on Tuesday, March 19, 2002. Lino Lakes remains in the six <br />legislative districts 52A and 53A and therefore must establi <br />19 weeks before the State Primary. Councilmember <br />O'Donnell seconded the mo 'ed unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 02 — 35 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />VFW Proclamation — Loyalty Day, May 1, 2002 — Administration Director Tesch advised the VFW <br />has asked the City to proclaim Loyalty Day as May 1, 2002, as an incentive to every American to <br />reaffirm his or her love of the flag and country. <br />Mayor Bergeson read the proclamation designating Loyalty Day as May 1, 2002. <br />Councilmember Carlson moved to approve the designation of Loyalty Day on May 1, 2002, as <br />presented. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motion.
