PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER Review and Approve 2002 Park Board Goals — Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director DeGardner advised the Park Board has recommended to the City Council the following goals for 2002: Partial Match of DNR Grant for Clearwater Creek Park — f 00,000) Public Services Director DeGardner advised in July 2001, the Ci" of o Lakes was awarded a $125,000 Outdoor Recreation Grant for the development of r Creek Park. This four -acre park is located at 607 Lois Lane and will primari serve residents in Highland Meadows, Bluebill Ponds, Mar Don Acres, Carole's Estates, and Tw ght Acres. Public Services Director DeGardner indicated preliminary total development costs are $383,000, with 25 percent of the costs designated for removals, earthwork, erosion control and importing and spreading topsoil. Further evaluation of existing site conditions may significantly reduce the total development costs. Assuming City Council approval, staff hopes to have Highland Meadows Park general site work completed, playground equipment installed, and the base of trails installed by this Fall. Recommended Funding Sources: Park Dedication Fund — Designated Funds Bluebill Ponds/Highland Meadows 3rd Addition Park Dedication Fund - Designated Funds $175,800
