• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 13, 2002 <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />There was no Public Safety Department report. <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />Review and Approve 2002 Park Board Goals — Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />DeGardner advised the Park Board has recommended to the City Council the following goals for <br />2002: <br />Partial Match of DNR Grant for Clearwater Creek Park — f 00,000) <br />Public Services Director DeGardner advised in July 2001, the Ci" of o Lakes was awarded a <br />$125,000 Outdoor Recreation Grant for the development of r Creek Park. As required <br />during the application process, the City Council committed "• '' ate 'ng a successful grant award. <br />Clearwater Creek Park will be functional by this Fall due • tallation of playground equipment, <br />a gazebo, paved trails, landscaping, final grading, ani: - ' _. This four -acre park is located at <br />607 Lois Lane and will primari serve residents in Highland Meadows, Bluebill Ponds, Mar Don <br />Acres, Carole's Estates, and Tw ght Acres. <br />Public Services Director DeGardner indicated preliminary total development costs are $383,000, with <br />25 percent of the costs designated for removals, earthwork, erosion control and importing and <br />spreading topsoil. Further evaluation of existing site conditions may significantly reduce the total <br />development costs. Assuming City Council approval, staff hopes to have Highland Meadows Park <br />general site work completed, playground equipment installed, and the base of trails installed by this <br />Fall. <br />Recommended Funding Sources: <br />Park Dedication Fund — Designated Funds <br />Bluebill Ponds/Highland Meadows 3rd Addition <br />Park Dedication Fund - Designated Funds <br />$175,800 <br />
