COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 10, 2002 <br />Community Development Director Grochala was not certain where City staff would begin coming up <br />with criteria for an amendment and he would likely defer this issue to the City Attorney. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell noted the project is a community project being funded by the Lions Club, <br />not the homeowner. He felt there may be a way to differentiate such projects being funded by <br />community charitable organizations. <br />Councilmember Carlson concurred. She felt in order to limit the number of similar requests in the <br />future, this would appear to be a clear delineation. She requested the City Attorney's opinion on this <br />matter. <br />City Attorney Hawkins questioned, although the City could make such a distinction, would that be a <br />legitimate delineation. The purpose of Resolution No. 02-51 is to <br />publicly thank the Circle -Lex La es Auxiliary VFW, Post #6583 for their generous donation. <br />Sergeant Rausch advised staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 02-51, Accepting Donation of <br />$500.00 from Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post #6583 to Purchase Emergency Equipment for <br />the Department Motorcycle. <br />Councilmember Carlson noted the resolution lists the items to be purchased with this donation, <br />including ear pieces to be installed inside a helmet to allow for hands free radio communication and a <br />public address system. <br />• <br />Councilmember Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 02-51, Accepting Donation of $500.00 from <br />Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post #6583 to Purchase Emergency Equipment for the Department <br />Motorcycle.
