JOINT COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 17, 2002 <br />Mayor Bergeson stated the City's experience with a road so close to the freeway is that <br />the County will probably propose a divided highway. <br />Community Development Director Grochala stated there are several issues with widening <br />the road but the first portion of the roadway will probably be four lanes. <br />Councilmember Capra stated the possibility of only having on ramps on the bridge is <br />being discussed at the joint meetings. <br />Community Development Director Grochala reviewed the timetable for the proposed <br />project and asked if the Council's want to move forward. Work has <br />been done to take the pl. .: er 1=vel that includes a GSI inventory. He noted the <br />inventory had blank spaces to the City of Centerville. A program was started with the <br />DNR in 2000 to have the s. - labels for all conservation inventories. The Soil <br />Conservation District also has a grant to inventory the last 1/3 of the City that was not <br />previously completed. <br />Mr. Rich Biske, Anoka County Soil Conservation District, came forward and stated that <br />part of the grant will allow for a more detailed inventory so areas can be more easily <br />managed. The inventory will also identify remaining natural areas to allow for linking <br />them with other natural areas in adjacent communities. Work is then done with the <br />property owners to try to preserve those areas and connect them together. <br />Councilmember Capra asked if they are looking for ways to link areas with trails. <br />
