CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 17, 2002 <br />Councilmember Reinert suggested there be something in the plat to state that homes must <br />be at a reasonable elevation due to flooding concerns and insurance. <br />Community Development Director referred to page 5 of the staff report regarding the <br />floodplain issue and requirement of the developer. <br />City Planner Smyser advised a condition regarding the floodplain can be added as a <br />condition of approval. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she would like traffic accident incident information for <br />the past two years on Birch Street. <br />Community Development Director Grochala advised based on the findings contained in <br />the staff report and analysis, staff is recommending approvthe applications based on <br />conditions outlined in the staff report. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell asked why the application is ght forward now as <br />opposed to waiting until the Comprehensive Plan is app <br />Community Development Director Grochala state <br />all applications within a certain amount of time <br />done on the project until the Metropolitan Co <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she has a <br />Comprehensive Plan is adopted. He stated he does not <br />believe there will be any additional pressure to get the Comprehensive Plan approved if <br />this project is approved. <br />Community Development Director Grochala added that Mr. Lou Masonic, resident, <br />called him regarding on-site septic systems. He indicated there is no issue with septics <br />leaking and seeping into the environment because of this project. <br />
