COUNCIL MINUTES „' "" AUGUST 12, 2002 <br />Government (PEG) fee from $2.38/mo. to $2.45/mo. The Memorandum of Understanding between <br />the member cities and AT&T Broadband allows for an annual cost of living increase in the PEG fee. <br />The seven -cent increase represents a 2.8 percent CPI average. The increased funding is necessary for <br />the Media Center to meet facility and equipment goals over the next five years. The <br />Telecommunication Commission is recommending the increase in the PEG fee. <br />City Administrator Waite Smith advised City staff recommends approval of the Cable Commission <br />Budget, Media Center Budget, and the increase to the PEG Fee to $2.45/mo. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell questioned what the Media Center's budget was for 2002. City <br />Administrator Waite Smith stated that the Media Center's budget for 2002 was $465,492. <br />Councilmember Carlson noted the proposed North Metro Telecommunications Budget documentation <br />materials indicated a possible new building for 2003. She ques``ed what would happen with the <br />funds if the new building is not constructed. <br />City Administrator Waite Smith indicated those funds canned for anything other than a <br />new building or remodeling an existing building. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell moved to approve the Ca <br />and the increase to the PEG Fee to $2.45/mo. The monies will be used for bus transportation to the Mall <br />of America for the patrol recognition day. <br />Sergeant Rausch advised City staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 02-84, Accepting <br />Donation from VFW Post No. 6583 for School Bus Patrol Transportation. <br />Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 02-84, Accepting Donation from VFW Post <br />No. 6583 for School Bus Patrol Transportation. Councilmember Carlson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 02-84 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />11 <br />
