COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 12, 2002 <br />Councilmember Carlson questioned whether the Netlawn parking spaces were considered part of the <br />36 percent of green space. Ms. Sherman stated this was not the case. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell questioned whether the landscaping on the eastern edge was entirely <br />located in the outlot area. The applicant indicted the intent was to wait until the connection is made <br />to the lift station. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell questioned the type of trees that would be used in the outlot area. The <br />applicant stated maple trees would be planted in that area. <br />O'Donnell stated he has received telephone calls from residents concerned about the safety of the <br />proposed gas station. He indicated during their recent work session the City Council was presented <br />with information on how the proposed gas station would be co cted and asked that information on <br />how the developer intends to ensure this gas station will be safe . vided at this time. <br />The applicant stated the requirements of the Environmental <br />regard to the construction of new gas stations and their inset <br />gas tanks are continuously monitored to ensure there are <br />occur, the Netlawn areas would absorb and contain <br />Agency are very stringent with <br />are monitored. The <br />applicant responded affirmatively. <br />Councilmember Reinert requested confirmation that the proposed rezoning would apply only to the <br />subject acreage. Ms. Sherman stated this was correct. <br />Councilmember Reinert questioned whether another convenience store was needed in Lino Lakes in <br />this location. He questioned what other uses had been considered for this site and what had led to the <br />decision to propose a convenience store. <br />20 <br />
