COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 12, 2002 Joan Tschida stated she was upset by the fact that she had been promised by City staff and the City Councils of both Lino Lakes and Centerville that this project would take place in the fall of 1998. She expressed concern that at this point her business does not have a road and she was also concerned about the increase in cost from 1998 to now. She indicated there is a large pothole at the end of the dirt road and this safety issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Councilmember Dahl moved, at 9:56 p.m., to close the public hearing for the 21st Avenue Street and Storm Sewer Improvements. Councilmember O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Bergeson and the City Engineer reviewed the next steps in this process. The results of the bid is required to award a construction contract to the Engineer's Estimate Amount of Bid $327,809.05 $401,938.77 $409,752.90 $422,902.15 $427,961.30 $302,663.50 City Engineer Studenski noted the low bid is approximately eight percent over the Engineer's Estimate for this project. A copy of the complete bid tabulation is attached. The City required a water main pipe size increase and an extension as part of the trunk system, at a cost of $8,129.00. The trunk water main area and unit charges for this development are approximately $49,000.00, for a total increase to the trunk fund of approximately $41,000.00. The City required the sanitary sewer to be installed at a greater depth and an extension as part of the trunk system, at a cost of $11,846.00. 30
