• <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 22, 2003 <br />APPROVED <br />Chief Pecchia advised the liquor license holders are supportive of the staff training and <br />grid. Tobacco compliance checks were also conducted. All license holders passed the <br />tobacco compliance check although Shirley Kay's has a vending machine without a <br />control mechanism. Shirley Kay's will be dealt with independently. <br />ANNUAL APPOINTMENTS FOR COUNCILMEMBERS <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if there are any requested changes to the annual appointments. <br />Councilmember Dahl requested that the Council officially make her the liaison to the <br />Charter Commission. <br />The Council determined Councilmember Dahl will be the official liaison to the Charter <br />Commission and that appointment will be added to the list for approval. <br />Councilmember Dahl advised the Charter Commission will be requesting a joint meeting <br />with the City Council. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she is developing an interest in the Environmental Board. <br />She stated she does attend the meetings and is quite often asked questions by the Board. <br />She indicated she would like to be a liaison to the Environmental Board. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated he does have a concern for Councilmember's attending meetings <br />and the Board asking questions. The Councilmember's answer may not represent the <br />view of the whole Council. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated he has no concern with Councilmember Carlson being <br />the liaison to the Environmental Board. He stated he hopes the Board understands <br />Councilmember Carlson may be answering questions based on her opinion and not the <br />view of the Council. <br />Councilmember Dahl asked if City Administrator Waite Smith would continue to be on <br />the YMCA Board. City Administrator Waite Smith indicated she would continue to <br />serve on the YMCA Board. <br />This item will appear on the regular Council agenda Monday, February 10, 2003, 6:30 <br />p.m. <br />GROWTH MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />Community Development Director Grochala advised the second reading of the Growth <br />Management Ordinance will take place on Monday night. Some changes have been made <br />to the Village section in regard to the findings. Staff is still working with the City <br />• Attorney on issues within the ordinance. That information will be distributed in the <br />Friday update. <br />
