COUNCIL MINUTES OCTOBER 13, 2003 <br />APPROVED <br />•731 was a lot of yellow that seemed out of place. He indicated Staff recommends approval with the <br />732 conditions outlined in the resolution. <br />733 <br />734 Jim Faulkner, architect and contractor, thanked Staff for the review. He indicated they will meet all <br />735 Staff's requirements, and they have copies of the civil engineering, drainage, landscape and floor <br />736 plans available. He indicated that they had always intended to use full brick veneer, and it was never <br />737 intended the brick would be stick -on. He stated the cornice would continue on the entire building, <br />738 and noted that after the Planning and Zoning meeting they were able to talk with Precision Tune and <br />739 eliminate the Precision Tune band. He thinks they have come up with a pleasant facade, with general <br />740 earth tones and blue canopies over the windows. He indicated the trash enclosure will be six feet tall <br />741 and brick veneer. He stated they have had discussions with Precision Tune about cars parked outside, <br />742 and they have a history with this Precision Tune owner. He indicated the owner also operates a <br />743 Precision Tune in Brooklyn Park and has had no problems with abandoned cars. <br />744 <br />745 Mr. Faulkner reviewed that the planters will be landscaped with prairie grass and perennials. He <br />746 indicated they would like some flexibility with landscaping, and will submit their plans to staff. <br />747 <br />748 Mayor Bergeson asked if they have any tenants yet besides Precision Tune, and asked what types of <br />749 businesses the space was being geared towards. David McCullom stated they have a leasing agent <br />750 pursuing other tenants, such as a book store, jewelry store and pizza place. <br />751 <br />752 Councilmember Carlson stated the face veneer brick should be replaced with full brick. Mr. Faulkner <br />•753 stated it will be full, real brick, not a synthetic material. <br />754 <br />755 Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 03-177 approving a conditional use permit <br />756 for an Automobile and Truck Repair Facility, Apollo Center.
