•
COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 10, 1987
meeting could be set to consider the summary items. Mr. Reinert said
he wanted to know where we are going with the suggestions made by the
City Auditor. Mr. Bisel said it was important to prioritize issues.
Mayor Benson asked Mr. Tautges to assess the overall financial picture
of Lino Lakes. Mr. Tautges said the overall picture regarding the
General Fund was 1.00% improved over four years ago and recommended
that the Council continue building the reserve balance in this fund.
He noted that the City is in a very sound position but noted that with
a funding partner such as the State of Minnesota, the City should
remain cautious since the State can change its rules anytime. He
further suggested that the City let the legislature know its funding
needs.
Mayor Benson thanked Mr. Taugtes for coming this evening.
FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 17 - 87, CONCERNING BUILDING STANDARDS
IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS
The Council at the July 27th meeting instructed that the proposed pole
barn ordinance be amended by Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Miller the City
Planner. Mr. Miller has prepared,a list of eight changes and in his
memorandum to the Council dated July 31, 1987 explained what these
changes will accomplish. Mr. Schumacher did outline these changes for
the Council. Mr. Kluegei said he would not have a problem with these
changes. Mr. Bisel noted that this proposal would allow existing pole
structures to be increased by 50% and the Council could require
certain enhancements to be made at the time it is enlarged. He also
asked if this ordinance will improve the type of construction in Lino
Lakes and how will this improve the business climate? Mr. Schumacher
said this probably will not be known for four or five years.
Mr. Bisel moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 17 - 87
and dispense with the reading. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
CITY OF LINO LAKES
COUNTY OF ANOKA
Ordinance No. 17 - 87
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, APPENDIX B, ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, BY AMENDING SUBDIVISION 4, SECTION (4) DESIGN
STANDARDS, ITEM (G) BUILDING DESIGN
The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota,
does ordain:
PAGE 4
