• COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 10, 1987 Ordinance No. 2•of the City of Lirio Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota passed by the City Council on May 24, 1983, is hereby amended by deleting the current language in Subd. 4, Section (4) (G) (i) (ii) and adding the following language: (G) Building Design 1. It is not the intent of the City to restrict design freedom when reviewing project architecture in connection with com- mercial and industrial site and building plans. However, it is in the best interest of the City to promote high stan- dards of architectural design and compatibility with sur- rounding structures and neighborhoods. Architectural plans should be prepared by an architect or other qualified person and shall be acceptable to the City Planning and Zoning Board and City Council. The plans shall show the following: elevations of all sides of the building type and color of exterior materials floor plans dimensions and locations of all structures location of trash containers and of heating and air conditioning equipment parking and storage areas landscaping sign location and detail including size and coloring 2. All buildings erected on land within the commercial and in- dustrial zoning districts shall be of wood frame, steel, re- inforced concrete, masonry or an equivalent or better mate- rial. No building shall have pole barn type construction nor an exterior wall surface of sheet metal. Exterior wall surfaces of all buildings shall be face brick, glass, stone, decorative block, architectural concrete cast in place, pre- cast concrete panel, or architectural metal panel. Wood may be used as a trim material. 3. Pole barn construction and sheet metal exteriors may be per- mitted in all commercial and industrial districts as a con- ditional use under the following circumstances: PAGE 5 (1) The buildings are accessory structures used for storage of boats, lumber and building supplies, and buses. (2) Completion of a sales or office building shall preceed construction of the boat, lumber and building supplies, and bus storage buildings. Construction of the office
