7. Site Grading: The work necessary to bring the Site to a finished grade as shown on the <br />Drawings. Site grading shall be considered to consist of but not limited to all forms of <br />excavation, subgrade preparation, and topsoil stripping and replacement. <br />1.06 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Notify Engineer when: <br />1. Fill or backfilling operations are resumed after a period of inactivity. <br />2. Subgrade materials consist of unsuitable materials or cannot be compacted to <br />specified limits. <br />3. Fill material appears to be deviating from Specifications. <br />B. Assist testing laboratory by excavating for density tests. Assist testing laboratory with <br />obtaining material samples. <br />C. An Independent Testing Laboratory will perform the following tests: <br />1. In-place density tests, ASTM D2922. <br />2. In-place moisture tests, ASTM D3017. <br />D. Costs for initial tests will be paid by the Owner. All costs for retesting required due to failure <br />to meet the specified density shall be paid for by the Contractor. <br />1.07 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING <br />A. Perform excavation as soon as possible after sewer and water construction. <br />B. Complete subgrade for streets, driveways, walks, and parking lots immediately after trench <br />backfill and compaction. <br />C. Complete finish grading of turf areas within 5 calendar days after backfill. <br />Install sod as described in Section 32 92 00, and on the Drawings. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Common Borrow: Conform to Paragraph 1.05.A of this Section. <br />B. Granular Borrow: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 3149.261. <br />C. Select Granular Borrow: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 3149.262. <br />D. Select Granular Borrow (Modified): Conform to the following gradation requirements: <br />Sieve Size Percent Passing <br />#40 Oto 40 <br />#200 0 to 5 <br />E.
