COUNCIL MINUTES July 13, 2015 <br />APPROVED <br />91 hired part-time scanners. At this time there is an opening for one individual in this position and after <br />92 a hiring process, staff is recommending that the council approve Ms. Kristine Kroll. <br />93 <br />94 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the hiring of Ms. Kroll as recommended. Council <br />95 Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />96 <br />97 3C) Considering Hiring Community Development Intern- Community Development Director <br />98 Grochala explained that this intern position that handles a variety of support functions in the <br />99 department is currently authorized but vacant. He is recommending that the council hire Mr. Keith <br />100 Dahl to fill the position. <br />101 <br />102 The mayor noted that this position fills some of the gap left by the vacancy of the Economic <br />103 Development Coordinator position, but at a much lower cost. Mr. Grochala noted that an intern <br />104 program also allows people to gain experience. <br />105 <br />106 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the hiring of Mr. Dahl as recommended. Council <br />107 Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />108 <br />109 3D) Consider Hiring Solid Waste Intern- Community Development Director Grochala noted <br />110 that this intern position is also currently vacant and he is recommending that the city hire Aubrey <br />111 Fonfara. He noted that funding for this position is available through grant funds from Anoka County. <br />112 <br />113 Mayor Reinert discussed the link between having this intern position and receiving the grant funds. <br />114 It is a position that is directly linked to receiving outside grant funds and would no doubt go away if <br />115 and when those funds aren't received. <br />116 <br />117 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the hiring of Ms. Fonfara as recommended. Council <br />118 Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />119 <br />120 3E) Resolution No. 15-70, On -Sale and Sunday Sales Liquor License for Don Julio- City <br />121 Clerk Bartell reported that the city has received an application for an On -Sale with Sunday Sales <br />122 liquor license for the restaurant Don Julio's that plans to open this fall at 701 Apollo Drive. Their <br />123 application process is complete, the related fees have been explained and insurance information has <br />124 been provided to the City as required. In accordance with the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances, this <br />125 application requires approval by the City Council. <br />126 <br />127 Coucnil Member Reoser moved to approve Resolution No. 15-70 as presented. Council Member <br />128 Kusteiivan seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />129 <br />130 3F) Resolution No. 15-69, Special Event Permit for Fiesta Cancun Grand Opening event, to <br />131 be held on July 24, 25 and 26, 2015- City Clerk Bartell reviewed the request of this new restaurant <br />132 for a special event to celebrate a grand opening. Staff has reviewed the plans for safety and <br />133 compliance to city regulations. Council Member Stoesz confirmed that the music component is for <br />134 only two nights even though the event is planned for three. <br />135 <br />3 <br />
