MEMORANDUM <br />TO: RANDY SCHUMACHER, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: DANIEL TESCH, ASSISTANT TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />DATE: 15 DECEMBER 1993 <br />RE: RESPONSIBLITIES OF DEPARTMENT HEADS AND DIVISION HEADS <br />I have prepared a list of responsibilities that I feel should be required <br />of our Department and Division Heads. Please review this list and let me know <br />if you would like anything added or deleated. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD <br />1. Review the division heads within their department twice annually. <br />2. Maintain the job descriptions of the division heads within their department. <br />Changes to job descriptions should be directed to the office of the Assistant <br />to the City Administrator for review and incorporation. Major changes <br />in work responsibilities that would be akin to a promotion or would require a <br />job point evaluation will be directed to the Ways and Means Committee. <br />3. Prepare annual goal statements to include objectives and tasks. These will <br />be reviewed at a meeting with the City Administrator. <br />4. Prepare monthly reports of activities for the City Administrator, to include <br />division reports. This report would be a one page form, and would list <br />the 5 major activities that took place over the past month. <br />5. Hold monthly staff meetings with division heads. <br />6. Attend bi-monthly post -council staff meetings. <br />7. Present quarterly reports to the City Council (April, July, October, January) <br />
