PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 Nailers and Framing: <br />A. Nailers and framing are to be non -preservative treated and have less than 19% <br />moisture content at the time of installation and when roofing is installed. <br />B. Approved Materials: <br />1. Douglas Fir <br />2. Eastern Pine <br />3. No. 2 Western Hemlock <br />4. No. 3 Southern Pine <br />5. Spruce -Pine -Fir <br />C. Size to be as necessary to match height of new materials. <br />2.02 Plywood: <br />A. 3/4" CDX exposure 1 or better, APA rated sheathing, non -preservative treated. <br />2.03 Fasteners: <br />A. Furnish all fasteners and/or anchoring devices for the entire project, which shall <br />include such items as nails, screws, bolts, anchors and similar items. <br />1. All bolts shall have standard threads and be complete with washers and <br />nuts. <br />2. Exterior exposed nails and screws shall be hot -dipped galvanized. <br />B. Anchoring devices shall be of the proper type and size for intended use and shall <br />be of adequate design to achieve substantial and positive anchorage unless <br />otherwise indicated. <br />1. Bottom nailer and blocking anchored to masonry or concrete: <br />a. Fasteners shall be 3/8" in diameter minimum, with corrosion - <br />resistant coating. <br />b. Fasteners shall be counter -sunk heads. <br />c. Fasteners shall be installed as recommended by the manufacturer <br />2. Wood assemblies, such as wood cants, top nailers and other built-up wood <br />members, shall be anchored with common nails or wood screws having at <br />least 1-'/2" anchoring penetration, spaced in 2 staggered rows at 12" on <br />center for each row. All other nailing shall be at Contractor's discretion <br />for a rigid and secure installation. <br />3. Plywood shall be anchored to concrete or masonry with threaded masonry <br />screw fasteners or expansion anchors. <br />a. Fasteners shall be 1/4" in diameter minimum, with corrosion - <br />resistant coating. <br />b. Fasteners shall have counter -sunk heads. <br />c.
