B. Approved Products: <br />1. No. 1-F flat plumbing vent flange by F. J. Moore Manufacturing <br />Company. <br />2. Approved Equal. <br />2.08 Related Materials: <br />A. Fasteners shall be of adequate design to achieve substantial and positive <br />anchorage. <br />1. Nails and fasteners including rivets, screws and bolts shall be zinc -coated <br />or stainless steel. <br />a. Nails for wood shall be flathead, barbed, not less than #12 gauge, <br />one -inch long. <br />2. Nails for felt shall be stainless steel or zinc- coated type with one (1) inch <br />caps. <br />3. Nails for securing metal pan clips shall be zinc -coated ring-shanked with <br />3/8" diameter heads. <br />B. Gasketed Fasteners: <br />1. Provide gasketed screws to secure sheet metal to create a weather -resistant <br />exterior envelope. Gasketed fasteners installed in accordance with <br />manufacturer recommendations/requirements shall comply with IBC <br />1403. <br />2. Gasket material shall be EPDM, vulcanized to the metal to establish a <br />bond that assures the EPDM will not separate from the metal. <br />3. Screws shall be corrosion resistant and painted the same color to match the <br />counterflashing. <br />4. Fasteners shall only be used at vertical surfaces, a minimum of 6 -inches <br />above horizontal surfaces. <br />5. Gaskets shall be considered "non -brittle" at -40° as per ASTM D2137. <br />Gaskets shall have been tested per ASTM D573 and be heat resistant. <br />6. Screws shall be secured with sufficient torque to secure the sheet metal <br />and maintain the seal weather -tight in accordance with the manufacturer's <br />requirements/recommendations. <br />7. Screws shall be secured utilizing a torque adjustable or depth sensitive <br />tool. <br />C. Joint Filler: <br />1. Joint filler and backup shall be an expanded polyethylene rod and backup. <br />Material shall be at least 25% larger in diameter or thickness than opening. <br />2. Approved products: <br />a.
