City of Lake Elmo <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 11, 2007 <br />Mayor Johnston called the meeting to order at 7 PM. <br />Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Mayor Johnston, Council members DeLapp, Johnson, Park and Smith. <br />Also Present: City Administrator Hoyt, Finance Director Bouthilet, City Attorney Filla, <br />Senior Planner Gozola, and City Clerk Lumby. <br />Approval of Agenda: <br />A10TION: Council Menrber Johnson moved approval of the December 11, 2007 agennda, <br />as amel7dedl Council J111ennber Smith seconded the nnotion. The motion passed <br />unaninnousl} <br />Approval of the minutes: None <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS/INQUIRIES: None <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />iVOTION. Council Mennber Johnson moved to approve the consent agenda consisting of <br />Itennns 1 and 2 as identified and taking off Items 3 and 4 for discussion. Council 11ember <br />Smith seconded the motion. The rnnotion passed unnaninnously. <br />• Approve Resolution no. 2007-096 for claims in the amount of $69,932.54. <br />® Approve Audit Engagement Letter with Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP for the 2007 <br />basic financial statement of the City <br />ADDroveauthorizeagranta lication to the "Polaris Ramer Donation Program" <br />Fire Chief Malmquist reported the City Council is being asked to authorize the Fire Chief <br />to apply for a grant to the "Polaris Ranger Donation Program" for an off road vehicle <br />valued at approximately $10,500. The award of the vehicle through this grant will trigger <br />additional capital costs including a fire fighting skid of $7,000 $500 for lighting and <br />$1,000 for as trailer for a total investment outside of the grant of $8,500 malting the total <br />cost of the vehicle $19,000. <br />MOTION: Council Allennber DeLapp moved to authorize the application for a grant to the <br />Polaris Ranger Donation P7'ogram for an off road vehicle and direct the staff'to hcwe the <br />equipment reviewed by AMC and if the grant is cni,arded to identify a specific funding <br />source or a canbinnation of these finnnding sources for the additional estimated capital <br />costs associated with the equipnnnent prior to acceptance approval by the City Council. <br />Council Mknnber Park seconded the nnotion.
