10/16/23, 9:55 AM Print Preview <br />https://lakeelmo.municipalcodeonline.com/book/print?type=ordinances&name=TITLE_1_GENERAL_PROVISIONS 18/48 <br />Fill means any act by which soil, earth, sand, gravel, rock, or any similar material is deposited, placed, <br />pushed, or transported and shall include the conditions resulting from the act. <br />Final plat means a drawing or map of an approved subdivision, meeting all requirements of the <br />subdivision ordinance, codified in LEC title 103, and in the form as required by law for the purposes of <br />recording. <br />Finished fill means soil compaction area and the final grade outside the wall and foundation of a <br />structure. <br />Fire or emergency medical alarm means a system or portion of a combination system consisting of <br />components and circuits arranged to monitor and annunciate the status of fire or medical emergency or <br />supervisory signal initiating devices which are intended to summon fire or emergency medical services <br />by the county sheriff's office and/or the city fire department. <br />Fish house means a water-oriented structure meant to provide periodic shelter during the winter <br />months while atop a frozen lake for use in fishing. A structure will be considered a fish house only if it is <br />constructed with sleds, wheels or similar means to allow transport on to a frozen lake; is not used on <br />land for human habitation; and is not used for boat storage. <br />Fitness studio means a place or building where passive or active exercises and related activities are <br />performed for the purpose of physical fitness, improved circulation or flexibility, and/or weight control. <br />The activities shall be conducted entirely within an enclosed building. A fitness studio may include <br />exercise equipment; and shall exclude massage in any form. The maximum allowable floor area is <br />5,000 square feet. <br />Fixture means the assembly that holds the lamp. Fixtures may include an assembly housing, a <br />mounting bracket or pole socket, a lamp holder, a ballast, a reflector or mirror, and a refractor or lens. <br />Floatable oil means oil, fat, or grease in a physical state so that it will separate by gravity from <br />wastewater. <br />Flood means a temporary increase in the flow or stage of a stream or in the stage of a wetland or lake <br />that results in the inundation of normally dry areas. <br />Flood frequency means the frequency for which it is expected that a specific flood stage or discharge <br />may be equaled or exceeded. <br />Flood fringe means the portion of the floodplain outside the floodway. The term "flood fringe" is <br />synonymous with the term "floodway fringe" used in the flood insurance study for Washington County, <br />Minnesota and incorporated areas. <br />Floodplain means the beds proper and the areas adjoining a wetland, lake, or watercourse which have <br />been or hereafter may be covered by the regional flood. <br />Floodproofing means a combination of structural provisions, changes, or adjustments to properties and <br />structures subject to flooding, primarily for the reduction or elimination of flood damages. <br />Floodway means the bed of a wetland or lake and the channel of a watercourse and those portions of <br />the adjoining floodplain which are reasonably required to carry or store the regional flood discharge. <br />Floor area means the gross area of the main floor of a residential building measured in square feet and <br />not an attached garage, breezeway, or similar attachment. <br />Floor area, gross, means the sum of the gross area of the various floors of a building measured in <br />square feet. The basement floor area shall not be included unless the area constitutes a story.
