130 Really really really REALLY important to keep and maintain the small town charm. Even
if large companies are willing to pay a lot of money to put up their big box or unsightly
stores they will 100% take away from the uniqueness and value and beauty of living in
Lake Elmo.
135 Overall, I like it as is and will welcome the development that will come along with the
old ag fields since these will bring new business and communities. That said, there needs
to be more investment in infrastructure. I mean this both in terms of how things look (we
don't want the village looking run down) as well as things like ensuring walkable paths
and parking, nice green spaces, and upkept playgrounds. It would also be nice to have
the railway managed in a way that reduces the amount of noise (particularly horns).
136 Keep the village area balance with more outdoor options . We love nature & being
outdoors all year long , why we moved out this way no more McDonalds , no more large
chain /retail
137 The Fury motors site would be a great place for multiple vendors and indoor/outdoor
eating space. Similar to Malcolm Yards or Keg and Case
138 I'd love it if we could keep a small town feel to the area that caters to families.
140 Honestly, the new houses have ruined the small town feel (and I don't say that lightly as
I live in one of the newer houses). Traffic is constant and frustrating. There's no indoor kid
friendly (besides the library) places. I'd love a kids play area either inside or a bigger one
outside.
149 Please develop it. While there is value in the charm and character of long standing
businesses, adding to the area enhances it
152 The reason we moved to Lake Elmo was for the small town feel, with access to amenities
in nearby towns. With the amount of young families in the area (including ours) it would
be great to have options to take the kids to play, where the adults can also enjoy. A
community center, brewhall, etc. would be fantastic in the area.
168 I really like the village area and the businesses along lake Elmo ave. I just wish there
were more businesses that were walkable rather than having to drive to Oakdale or
Stillwater. I would prefer if we have a walkable community
171 Appreciate the intentionality.
177 More diverse ethnic food options and celebration of the diversity in the area,
184 The water issue needs to be resolved prior to more building and people become part of
the community.
185 No. I am proud to live in this community!
ResponseID Response
