190 Please continue to protect our community from extensive growth and congestion. Make it
a quaint destination for people to come and enjoy. Wish there was space to make a
"restaurant/lounge with lake view"
191 Keep it cute and not commercialized.
194 Think about all the children!
201 With the Lake Elmo area quickly growing I feel the right direction for the community
should be investing in building infrastructure and services to support the community not
only today but 5-15 years from now.
203 Please don't wipe away the charm and history of Lake Elmo. Be sensitive to the farmers
and native peoples who have worked the land. Always keep safety in mind.
204 No
205 Less houses more business. Only mixed use for housing.
207 We will not be Stillwater but we can find ways to ensure downtown is sustainable.
There needs to be a vision for future architectural style for all new construction. Focus on
adding more downtown residents, walkability, and storefronts that can succeed while
adding a Central Park.
217 Please take time and do this right. We already sold out to the met council with the 2040
plan in order to get city sewer and now will have way too many apartments coming
online south of 5th street. We do not need more apartments in the old village too.
218 I don't understand the point of the survey. Just because we say what we want to see in
the old Village doesn't mean those businesses have any interest in coming to Lake Elmo.
Nothing has stopped businesses from coming in to this point..
222 Let's respect the current residents who live in the area. Low income housing does not
belong here. It will put a mark on us. We already struggle watching everyone drive past
us to Stillwater or Woodbury. Fix the water problem and develop some great retail and
residential areas.
225 I think we should look at how downtowns like Stillwater , Hudson, Bayport have used
their green spaces and layouts of their town friendly feel. I feel we lack that in Lake Elmo
and it gives off a rich vibe instead of Welcome Home One!
241 don't let those 600k houses be built en masse and lose the charm
243 People drive too fast through downtown and lack of parking
247 There is so much potential to create a hometown "main street" feel...just missing some
key ingredients. I think any move toward this type of village with a nice combination of
restaurants, dining, shopping, etc. would be hugely welcomed by our community.
ResponseID Response
