642 I'm so happy the city is interested in hearing the community's thoughts and opinions. We
have felt there is so much potential in the village area that just isn't being realized.
Would love to see more places that add value to families and people within walking
distance. We need more destinations to give people a reason to visit and leisurely hang
out. What can be added that appeals to the growing number of families in Lake Elmo?
What will create a vibrant sense of community? It's exciting to think about the
possibilities! Thanks for your time!
643 Redo the elementary school, water supply, and power grid!
644 We would be interested in starting a small business if the village of the climate was right
652 We have enough developments. The water issue needs to be solved along with space for
all the kids in schools and accessible after school care. The waiting lists are out of control
for after school care and are only going to get worse with the school times changing.
Almost impossible for parents to work! Our community NEEDS help in this space badly.
675 Great idea to pause to vision about the future of Lake Elmo. It's a great city but will be
better in the future with this planfull approach! I appreciate the recognition that mixed
housing will be needed in the future, and I'd urge the council to think about what other
city infrastructure makes sense to create a truly livable city - multimodal transportation
option, inspiration from "15-minute" cities, amenities accessible for all ages, abilities,
incomes. I'd love the City to create dedicated community spaces in the old village,
especially with fitness and aquatic activities, and space that can host free- or low-cost
events and informal activity space for all ages. I'd love to see residents of Lake Elmo (and
surrounding areas) to be drawn to come to downtown LE. I live within walking distance
of downtown, and it's honestly such a joy to have a true "downtown" feel - I'd love for
others to share the joy in that feeling and I'd love for the community atmosphere to build
by adding dedicated community space. I would support raising taxes (ballot measure or
other) to contribute towards investing in Lake Elmo to provides more and varied
amenities for residents, and that might make some of the ideas generated by this vision
exercise possible. This city is my home, and I have a vested interest in making it livable
for myself, my family, and my neighbors.
677 No
679 Maintain the historic look and feel of the village
685 Strongly opposed to large apartments
692 Thank you for taking the time to solicit input!
696 Leave it alone.
698 City needs to help and support the businesses downtown. Maintain the "plants" on the
streets. The ground along lake elmo Ave is full of weeds with no flowers whatsoever.
709 I will be moving my office there this summer and am very excited
ResponseID Response
