713 Don't ruin the charm of the Village. There are plenty of ways to maintain its uniqueness
and make money.
714 Great place with a lot of potential. You guys have done. Great job so far as the
community has grown.
719 It would be wonderful if Main Street was more pedestrian friendly to the homes near
downtown. A great community center with gym, pool, pickleball, racquetball, senior
classes, yoga/ health classes restaurant or coffee shop would vitalize Lake Elmo.
724 There are a number of neighborhoods and prospective neighborhoods close enough to
walk or bike to the downtown area but there are obstacles such as crossing Stillwater
Blvd. Need to make this much more accessible to have a vibrant downtown.
728 We need more places to enjoy. Shops, nice restaurants, no fast food.
730 Keep in mind parking ️ with what is being built as well as how busy the area can get
during events that are held, potentially parking will need to be expanded/need more
options.
735 No, other than I appreciate you doing this survey and seeking community input.
737 Stop with the housing. Just stop. The Met Council sucks and you need to stop.
748 I acknowledge the challenge of growth while maintaining small town charm wth historic
roots. I don't have a problem with single family homes, townhouses and low rise
appartments. More development, including busineeses, away from the L.E.
Blvd/Stillwater Blvd area would be good.
753 Would love to see local businesses rather than any chains brought in
756 I see potential but I also worry that there is nothing to tie it all together like other cute
areas with a river or lake nearby. We have a lake, obviously, but access is limited and not
really connected to the village. Without easy access to the village itself people need to
want to take a trip and there's just not enough cohesion. Maybe that's in the branding. It's
not that far off from a place like Hopkins as kind of a cute destination but it still needs
more commerce to draw people in.
759 Keep it small!!!!!
766 Please keep the small town feel of the village area alive. It has a very unique and great
feel. Develop the area by 94 to have the new suburban feel if that is what the city is
aiming for.
768 Keep the old village quaint and attractive. Add variety of businesses to increase customer
volume. Improve walking access to old village. Cty rd 14 is difficult and dangerous to
cross.
ResponseID Response
