908 I biked there with my 3 kids tonight. We live in Tana Ridge. Would love to see a
biking/walking path on Stillwater blvd continuing past Lake Elmo Bank. We shopped at
La belle est vie and had pizza at their food truck, then went to the library. Would love if
there was somewhere to get ice cream or a bakery (sunshine closes early) and if the
playground was more updated. I really want to see LE maintain its small town charm and
not include chain retail or big box or fast food. We have plenty of that in oak park
heights.
909 Excited to see this area grow in the future. Would love to see it more accessible by bike.
914 we moved here because of the rural village - please do not ruin that
917 It is beautiful and functional as it is, maintains its charm, however, very unsafe for people
opening their car doors (parked on LE Ave N), pedestrians and bicyclists due to speed
limit which should be lowered to 20 MPH.
924 Properties should be forced to be maintained. For example, 3524 Lake Elmo Ave N is
poorly maintained.
925 I will move out of the village of Lake Elmo if more "affordable housing" is brought in. We
need places to go eat like pizza, bakery, ice cream for families with young children. There
is nothing to do when in downtown Lake Elmo so as of today there is really not much
reason to visit and spend money here. Also, the speed of traffic on Lake Elmo Ave is way
to high, needs to slow down including on the highway portion by the Elementary School.
The city has added thousands of homes near the village but the downtown area remains
the hair salon capital. It feels like Lake Elmo is not interested in being a friendly city for
families to live in based upon there being nothing for families with kids to do in the
village area.
926 I love living in Lake Elmo! I just really hope that growth can be contained so that it
doesn't turn into a Woodbury and traffic patterns can be managed to avoid significant
congestion like Stillwater. I really love white lake and that's laid out.
927 I would not like to see apartments or more commercial type business to come in. Keep
the focus on the single family homes/families who moved out of the city to keep small
town living alive
928 It seems like with the right shops and Restaurants, Lake Elmo Ave could resemble
stillwater's main street. There would need to be major improvements in the ability for
families to walk to the "downtown" area but it seems possible. Traffic would need to be
reduced on Stillwater blvd. Otherwise more access to a network of bike or walking trails
is greatly needed.
ResponseID Response
