929 There are so many houses built or being built north or 14. Let's try to keep the village
area special. No big box stores or restaurants. Keep family and community in mind. Think
of all the kids that are now living in this area and will grow up here. No apartments. No
low income housing. Let's keep Lake Elmo safe. Clean up the ugliness of the car dealer.
We have a great thing going in Lake Elmo. We don't need to grow big. That's part of the
charm. We are too close to Woodbury, Oak Park Heights, Stillwater, Oakdale so if we
need our Caribou, Starbucks Culvers, DQ we can get it in those areas.
931 Why are we doing a survey that would imply we can change the City's 2040
Comprehensive Plan? Additionally, we just redeveloped the village and its parking and
side walks. Lake Elmo will never be Stillwater. This survey is a waste of tax payer
money. Please follow how the city is guided under the CP.
940 It is the key to the future. Make it a powerful magnet.
941 There are so many families with young children in the area and there need to be fun
places for families to bring their children to, while also catering to a fun entertaining
environment for adults. Some ideas include a wine bar or brewery with a kids play area /
outdoor area with fresh and healthy food options. We also need more variety in any
shops that open up in the village. And an ice cream shop would also be fun! Additionally,
it would be nice it there could be a lake front park area that connects to downtown lake
Elmo. And an easy way to access lake Elmo park reserve from the downtown by bike or
walking (or even driving) instead of having to drive ten minutes around the entire reserve.
945 Please don't change the old time Feel of this lovely town.
948 We need clean water and a sufficient water supply to expand Lake Elmo.
951 Places like Sunshine Coffee bring a sense of community, so we would like to see an ice
cream parlor or wood fired pizza shop add to that.
962 This town has the potential to be a destination town like Stillwater or Hudson. Now it has
so many ugly, empty lots and buildings. I hope you are being thoughtful about a plan
that prioritizes individuals who visit or live in the town. Thanks!
963 Lake Elmo already has a small historic town reputation with undeveloped or
redevelopment potential. It can become a destination for locals and visitors. Stick with
historic small town as a unifying principle to development within the Village and avoid
large, commercial, strip-mall, or industrial developments. Ensuring that the school and
Fury Motors spaces are developed according to the historic main street plan is important
for enhancing the appropriate functionality and tone of the entire town.
968 I can't wait until I can feel safe walking from legacy North Star to downtown without
feeling I'm going to get hit by a car. More boutique shops, unique restaurants and
"cuteness" for the area will be exciting!! Love how downtown Wbl decorates with
hanging baskets in the summer and Christmas lights anll over in the winter and with
downtown holiday activities in December.
ResponseID Response
