990 Use lake elmo heritage as a base for future growth and community connection. Especially
connecting the different housing developments that have been developed
995 Lions park is nice for recreation but why not a park similar to Washington Square Park in
Stillwater on one of the empty lots on Lake Elmo Ave.
996 Special care to the look and feel should be considered. A small market that is accessible
for residents within walking distance would be fabulous.
998 Keep the small town/mainstreet feel!
1006 Please keep small town feel, no chains. Keep nature natural.
1007 Make the sidewalks and bike paths connected and able to go outside city limits. Build the
softball/baseball complex by hagbergs. Have the city remove snow of paths for winter
use.
1011 First get side walks/ bike path. Then work on developing Main Street.
1016 Use the lessons of hiatory to make a town that cam stand the test of time.
1017 To keep the city's charm we need to build with architectural awareness of light and noise
pollution. Also avoiding all building styles that are urban looking, like 5 story matchstick
apartments with chains holding up tiny balconies. It will be important to have some
deeply affordable units with parking, since we aren't on a transit route.
1019 The downtown has so much potential and based on these questions I think you are
moving in the right direction. Please keep the momentum going!
1020 Would love to keep the home town feel with local shops/restaurants/breweries etc
1022 Don't develop or destroy history
1023 Destination spot for families and visitors - easy access to walk, bike or drive
1033 With increased traffic it makes it harder for people who have been living in Lake Elmo
before the homes in the village area to get in and out of their homes. The small town
feeling is going away.
1034 I appreciate being asked for input.
1041 Please NO fast food, drive-throughs, chain restaurants, big box stores, high-rise
structures, and minimize asphalt use. Keep the quaint charm with ease of walkability,
stick with classic architecture styles and building materials. Invite unique local/regional
vendors/businesses. Maintain as much green space, old growth trees, nature areas and
wildlife corridors as humanly possible.
1042 Challenging - but we need something more than we have.
ResponseID Response
