1045 We recently moved here and see so much potential. Hate to see it wasted on more
industrial businesses.
1048 The village is a rare small town in the metro area with an attractive retail district. It just
needs a moderate expansion of retail options preferably small and/or independent. There
is ample large big box retail available nearby in both Stillwater and Woodbury. The main
risk would be too much expansion which would destroy the small town character
1049 The City did a "Visioning" process in the 90s, but the Council did not have the guts to
follow through. Why will this effort be any different?
1059 More food choices
1060 The enjoyment of Lake Elmo is the small town feeling. Keep it that way by developing to
that feeling rather than developing to make it more modern.
1061 Excited for the future!
1065 Would like to have more options, add more traffic lights at busy intersections, like from
Legacy North Star neighborhood and Kokoro volleyball
1066 Add a place for senior in the community center and maybe a daycare.
1068 I think the City should continue to focus housing developments in the old village area and
south of 10th Street, and preserve the more rural areas of the City.
1069 Thanks for requesting input!
1070 I think of the village as the area along Lake Elmo Ave between 33rd and Stillwater
because the traffic on Stillwater eliminates the village feel. We'd like to spend more time
in the village, it find there isn't much to do, and we don't always feel safe walking across
the streets with a toddler. It'd be nice if there was a water feature, like a fountain or
something. It would also be nice to see the old run down buildings updated.
1071 Please have an open and community based meeting as we have in the pass when people
actually get to discuss their ideas with each other. The thoughts of residents should be
more important than those of developers who are more concerned about their profits
than the long term goals and life of the city. I am opposed to your large scale apartment
buildings, the pictures do not represent our city.
1074 No
1083 I'm looking forward to the open forums, and what are the options you have in mind.
Thanks for your work.
ResponseID Response
