STAFF REPORT <br />DATE:October 7, 2025 <br />Consent <br />TO: Mayor and Council <br />FROM: Julie Johnson, City Clerk <br />AGENDA ITEM: Approve November 4, 2025 Council Meeting Rescheduling <br />BACKGROUND: The North St. Paul – Maplewood – Oakdale School District 622 will hold an election <br />on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. This is a regularly scheduled Council Meeting date. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: The Council must choose a new date for the November 4, 2025 City <br />Council Meeting. <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Minnesota State Statute 204C.03 states that city councils may not <br />hold meetings between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on election day. The city will be hosting one <br />polling location at the City Center building on election day for voters in school district 622; therefore, the <br />regularly scheduled council meeting will need to be rescheduled. It has been past practice for the meeting <br />to be held one day later, on Wednesday, following an election. Staff recommends moving the November <br />4th meeting to November 5th. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: None <br />OPTIONS: Council may approve the suggested Wednesday, November 5, 2025 date or choose a <br />different date. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Motion to reschedule the Tuesday, November 4, 2025 City Council Meeting to Wednesday, <br />November 5, 2025 <br />ATTACHMENTS: None
