STAFF REPORT <br />DATE:January 6, 2026 <br />CONSENT <br />TO: Mayor and Councilmembers <br />FROM: Dustin Kalis, Fire Chief <br />ITEM: Donation to the Fire Department from Mark and Tina Wiens <br /> <br />CORE STRATEGIES: <br />☒ Vibrant, inclusive, connected community ☐ Efficient, reliable, innovative services <br />☒ Responsive, transparent, adaptive governance ☒ Balanced Finances now and future <br />☐ Managed Growth <br />BACKGROUND: <br />State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should Council accept the donation of $100.00? <br />PROPOSAL: <br />Mark and Tina Wiens presented the City with a donation of $100.00 for the Lake Elmo Fire <br />Department. Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution <br />for the Council to officially accept the donation. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no impact to the 2025 budget as these funds were not anticipated. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1)Approve Resolution <br />2)Amend and then Approve Resolution <br />3)Do not accept the donation <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Motion to approve Resolution <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution 2026-006
