CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />Communications Strategy <br />The Source Newsletter <br />Published biannually, The Source is the official newsletter for residents and businesses. The <br />newsletter offers in-depth information on community news, city projects and initiatives, city <br />services, employee updates, and upcoming community events. <br />Our Key Objectives: <br />Share news, planning, and initiatives with in-depth articles and information <br />Identify and prioritize key messages <br />Educate the community on specific areas of interest <br />Examine the best avenues for communication and frequency <br />Explore additional opportunities for outreach, including brochures, posters, and flyers <br />The Fresh Newsletter <br />Published weekly, The Fresh is the official email newsletter for residents and businesses. <br />The newsletter provides in-depth information about community news, city projects and <br />initiatives, city services, employees, and community events. <br />The Fresh will allow community organizations related to city business to submit one <br />newsworthy topic or event each week, with the deadline being Wednesday at noon. To <br />comply with ADA accessibility rules, images will remain unaltered and not contain embedded <br />text whenever possible. No PDFs will be accepted. Events must be accessible and open to <br />the community. <br />Social Media: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, NextDoor, YouTube <br />The City of Lake Elmo uses various media platforms to communicate with the public <br />accurately and promptly. Its website (www.lakeelmo.gov) serves as its primary and <br />significant online presence. Additionally, the city leverages social media to engage with the <br />public, share news and information about Lake Elmo, and highlight the city’s achievements <br />and stories. <br />6
