APPROVED AS AMENDED NOVEMBER 21, 2006 <br />7. MAINTENANCE/PARK/FIREBUILDING: <br />A. Maintenance Dept.: <br />1. Purchase of Truck Lifts for Public Works <br />The Public Works Supt, recommends the purchase of a new set of truck lifts. The new <br />"demo" model, with an extended warranty and a price reduction off the State contract of <br />$800,00, was scheduled for the new Public Works garage and has met the City's criteria. <br />These were proposed to be purchased by the City for $30,000 to $50,000. <br />Council discussed if the City already had one, the need for the lifts, and if the City would <br />contract out to other cities. Insurance would then also be required. <br />The Public Works Supt. stated that 90% of these types of lifts are used by MnDOT. <br />Training would also be required for the new equipment. <br />M/S/P Smith/DeLapp - to authorize the purchase of the truck lifts and accessories off the <br />State Contract from Carney Sales Co., in the amount of $29,317.32. (Motion passed 5-0) <br />B. Parks Dept.: <br />1. Accept Resignation from Park Commission, John Heroff <br />The City Planner informed the Council that the City has received a Letter of Resignation <br />from John Heroff, who has served on the Parks Commission since 1998. <br />Judith Blackford, 1st Alternate Member of the Parks Commission, can now step into the <br />Full Voting Member position vacated by John Heroff, and move John Booher, to 1st <br />Alternate Member. <br />M/S/P Johnson/Smith - to accept the resignation of John Heroff from the Parks <br />Commission, appoint Judith Blackford as Full Voting Member of the Parks Commission <br />for a term of three years, and move John Booher to 1st Alternate Member of the Parks <br />Commission. (Motion passed 5-0) <br />Council directed Staff to advertise the vacancy on the Parks Commission. <br />C. Building Dept.: <br />1. Monthly Construction Report <br />ort <br />Building Official McNamara reported that new residential construction has continued its <br />slow pace through the month of October. <br />2. Update on Hardy House Moving <br />Building Official McNamara reported that Ms. Hardy had signed the Site Development <br />Agreement and the new Letter of Credit had been issued. The first deadline is <br />December 1, 2006. The footings and foundation are completed, and stated the house <br />should be on the new foundation by December 1, 2006. <br />- -- 3. Update-on-8475-Hdden_Bay-Trail -. <br />Building Official McNamara stated that the property at 8475 Hidden Bay Trail presents a <br />health and safety hazard.
