b. Lake Elmo Jaycees Donation DRAF7 <br />Administrator Rafferty introduced representatives of the Lake Elmo Jaycees who donated <br />proceeds from fundraising. Jaycees' President Josh Ackerman and Michelle Carlson presented <br />a donation in the amount of $10,000.00. The Mayor thanked the Jaycees and said the City will <br />use part of the funds for the Staff and Volunteer Recognition Dinner. <br />4. Consent Agenda <br />a. Approving Claims <br />b. Pay Scale Adjustment <br />M/S/P, Johnston/Smith, To adopt the 2006 Employee Pay Plan, <br />Councilmember DeLapp said City employees might be getting disproportionate increases. <br />The City used to use the Stanton Survey of comparable cities to determine increases. The <br />Mayor said he agrees but said we should approve this increase tonight, and later determine <br />whether this is how we wish to continue the method of compensation for staff. <br />VOTE: 5:0. <br />5. Finance <br />None <br />6. New Business <br />a. Organizational. Planning Commission Appointments <br />The Administrator explained the appointment process for commissioners. Council conducted <br />interviews of commissioners with more than two terms along with new applicants at their <br />workshop last week. <br />M/S/P, To reappoint Mark Deziel and Jennifer Pelletier to a second term on the Planning <br />Commission for 3-year terms that will expire on January 16, 2009. <br />Motion, Councilmember DeLapp asked for an amendment to include reappointment of <br />Commissioners Helwig and Sedro.
