Resolution No. 2006-089: Set Truth in Taxation Hearing Dates <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Smith — to adopt Resolution No. 2006-089, setting the Truth in Taxation <br />Public Hearing Dates for the 2006 Tax Levy and the 2007 Budget. (Motion passed 4-0) <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: None <br />7. MAINTENANCE/PARK/F'rREBUILDING• <br />A. Parks Dent.: <br />(1) Carriage Station Basketball Court: <br />Public Works Superintendent reported that three quotes were received for the <br />building/resurfacing of the new basketball court at Carriage Station. He reported that <br />there are CIP funds set aside for this project and recommends awarding the bid to T.A. <br />Schifsky, Inc. <br />The Council expressed a concern that the low bidder was adequately qualified to perform <br />the work and formed a consensus that the proposed partial court be enlarged to 2 feet <br />beyond the out of bounds strupes. <br />M/S/P Smith/DeLapp — to award the bid to T.A. Schifsky, Inc., in the amount of <br />S 12,500.00 per quote dated August 23, 2006, for a new Carriage Station basketball court <br />at the enlarged size, per the recommendation of the Public Works Supervisor. <br />(Motion passed 4-0) <br />(2) Announce Public Works Open House: <br />City Administrator Rafferty announced that an Open House will be held for the new <br />Public Works Building on Saturday, September 16, 2006, from 9:00 am to Noon. Update: <br />(1) Recognize Explorers: <br />Chief Malmquist recognized Lake Elmo Volunteer Explorers Fire Post 9351 for their <br />successes at the Eighth Annual Governors Fire Safety Day. Explorers Sarah Gilder, <br />Noah Malmquist, Jack Winkels, Tom Gagnon, Jessica Elliott, Ben Salus and Adam <br />Heinle participated in the event. <br />(2) Recognize Two En ' eer Certified Firefighters: <br />Training Officers - District Chief Brad Winkels and Captain Mike Tremain introduced <br />Brian Johnson and Richie Springborn.
