Administrator Kueffner would like to sit down with Shafer and go over these
items summarized and do an onsite inspection.
M/S/P DeLapp/Hunt — to direct the staff to research the expressed concerns
and observations and review the existing CUP. (Motion passed 2-
1:Armstrong : This is unfair to the CUP holder, Shafer Mining, for this to
come under Public Inquiries and not appraised by staff.)
A. 501h Street Improvement
Mayor Hunt indicated there was a lot of discussion at the last council
meeting and the Council listened. Based on comments, it became obvious to
him that the project was rushed into this year. He is not in favor of
approving bids of October 6 but to postpone to assure the road fits design
guidelines, evaluate all options, and plan on doing project next spring.
The Council supported this postponement and will touch base in late
November with the City Engineer, who will let the residents know what road
design options are available.
M/S/P DeLapp/Armstrong — to rescind the approval of the 501h Street
project, as approved at the September 19, 2000 meeting, and to direct the
City Engineer to provide detailed analysis of the options for pavement of
50"' Street. The City Engineer is further directed to have this analysis
completed for the November 17, 2000 City Council meeting. (Motion
passed 4-0.)
Council member Dunn arrived at 7:30 p.m. because she had attended the
2001 forum at Washington County.
5. NEW BUSINESS:
6. CONSENT AGENDA:
LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OCTOBER 3, 2000
