B. Update on Fire Dept. Activities Greg Malmquist: Roof Repair at <br />Station 1 <br />The City attempted to get the required three bids, but received only two bids. <br />Fire Chief Malmquist reported the roof at Fire Station 1 is in dire need of <br />repair and recommended Roof Tech. <br />M/S/P Armstrong/Siedow - to have Tom Prew review needed repair to roof <br />of Fire Station # 1 by next meeting and slashing repair for Fire Station #2 up <br />to $26,000 based on City Engineer's recommendation and discussion on the <br />lifespan with Administrator and Fire Chief. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />Fire Chief Malmquist reported the Fire Dept. Open House will be October 9, <br />6-9 p.m. The Dept attended the Cimarron Safety Fair, and the official new <br />fire truck is complete and in service. The staff will contact the members of <br />the Fire Study Committee to set a meeting date. <br />C. Update on Building Dept. Activities and Complaints: Jim McNamara <br />Jim McNamara reported there were 12 new residential permits issued, and <br />the City should exceed 130 new houses this year. Council member DeLapp <br />asked if we should put a maximum of building permits issued in one season. <br />Jim responded he didn't know how the City would do this. Discussion <br />followed on how the City measures building height. Jim explained Lake <br />Elmo is still measuring to the peak where the UBC takes the average. <br />7. CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />A. Resolution Awarding Bid for Eagle Point Blvd. Improvement <br />Bids were opened on September 12, 2001, and the results of the bid opening <br />were provided. Tom Prew recommended awarding the bid to the low <br />responsible bidder, Tower Asphalt. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Siedow - to adopt Resolution No. 2001-076, awarding the <br />Eagle Point Boulevard Street Construction Project to Tower Asphalt, Inc. for <br />$370,647.25.
