The City Administrator reported the final draft of the Fire Department Plan will be <br />available to the Council, the Fire Department Committee, and all members of the Fire <br />Department on July 2, 2002. <br />B. Update on Building Dept. Activities: Jim McNamara <br />The Building Official reported there were 6 new residential home permits and one <br />commercial building permit granted <br />1. Hidden Bay Complaint Update <br />The Building Official reported the building permit for this address is good and work is <br />progressing, but very slowly. There will be shingles on the roof by the end of next week. <br />The same contractor is finishing the interior. Jim has talked to Attorney Shoeberg about <br />the deadline date of July 24th. DeLapp asked what will happen if not done by July 24th <br />and suggested have a contingency plan in place and inform the homeowners. The <br />Administrator indicated there is a plan, one deadline has been extended, and the attorney <br />is working on a follow-up. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Armstrong — to direct Attorney Shoeberg to inform the property owner of <br />the contingency plan, if the deadline date of July 24°i is not met. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Siedow - to direct the staff to discuss how fines can be levied similar to <br />this, dealing with nonperformance permit holders and violations of people that should <br />have taken permits. (Motion passed 5-0). The Building Official explained the Uniform <br />Building Code does have provisions for doubling permit fees. <br />Buberl Recycling and Composting CUP, 5750 Memorial Avenue N. <br />This property with the CUP was annexed thru the Baytown annexation. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Armstrong — to direct staff to send copies of Buberl CUP and give update <br />in the next two meetings. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />Mayor Hunt acknowledged the contractors of the Bremer building appreciated being well <br />taken care of by the Building Official/Building Department in malting the inspection <br />deadlines. <br />8. CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />A. Roof replacement for Fire Stations No. 1 and No. 2 <br />The City Engineer recommended rebidding the roof replacement job. This bid does not <br />include replacing the block, just the roof. Mayor Hunt said the walls need to be repaired <br />as part of this project even if its two separate bids.
