Assessment Policy <br />The City Administrator provided a revised "assessment policy" for Council discussion. <br />The Council was asked to comment and come up with a fair assessment policy. This will <br />be discussed at the next meeting. <br />C. Proposed Fire Dept. By-law changes, Fire Dept, Study Report (Postponed by <br />Fire Chief and City Administrator) <br />D. Old Business <br />The City Administrator provided an updated Unfinished Business list <br />E. Employee Evaluation <br />The Job Evaluation for Jim McNamara was done by the City Administrator and City <br />Planner. The Council postponed action on this item until the August 6 h meeting to give <br />them time to read and comment on the review. <br />F. Hiring of Temporary Position (Filing) <br />The City Administrator recommended hiring Jeanette Hurd, 526 Cimarron, at $10/Hour <br />for 180 days, 25-30 hours per week, to follow through with the filing from the Record <br />Retention schedule. <br />M/S/P Siedow/Dunn - to hire Jeanette Hurd, as a temporary position, as presented by the <br />City Administrator. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />G. Six Month Report on Budget vs. Expenditures <br />12. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Mayor Hunt: Hill Trail Improvement — settle assessment policy first before meeting with <br />Hill Trail residents. <br />Council member DeLapp reported: <br />*Jeff Berg, Washington County Soils and Conservation, took a crew of people from the <br />DNR and planted trees (that Mike Bouthilet provided) in Stonegate Park with no cost to <br />the City and added woodchips on the trails in Sunfish Park. <br />*He called Dean Johnston, Environmental Commission Chair, involving a citizens group <br />to set up environmentally friendly programs with the City being a participant in terms of <br />technical advice and some financial assistance. <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 16, 2002 10 <br />
