Meeting of League of Minn. Municipalities is scheduled for Sept. 6, 1973 6:30 p.m. <br />at Forest Lake. Clerk instructed to send in reservations for 4. <br />Report from Insurance Committee is that the $3,000. term insurance policy fell <br />through. A new possibility exists but minimum total coverage is $27,000 of <br />term insurance. Since village has only 3 permanent employees it would amount to <br />$9,000 per employer. Motion by C. Watson second by C. Shervheim that we accept <br />recommendation of Insurance Committee to,go with Aetna. Employees to be notified <br />that the $9,000 coverage is temporary as we only guarantee $3,000 coverage. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hedberg appeared regarding a building permit. Motion by C. <br />Abercrombie second by C. Friedrich denying permit on the following grounds: <br />1. That 2 sewer (ground absorption)systems would utilize same area 2. Lot is not <br />officially subdivided, (did not follow sub -division procedure) and 3. The lot is <br />less than the required minimum of one acre. Carried 5 - 0. <br />Rex Kitts and George Hite appeared relative to vacation of the Eagon Acres Plat. <br />C. Abercrombie presented resolution R-73-30 approving vacationof Eagon Acres <br />Plat and asked for council confirmation. Second by C. Shervheim. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />C. Watson moved with second by C. Shervheim that we approve Special Use Permit for <br />John Dill for a mobile home on 3M property at Tartan Park as his residence as a <br />seasonal guard. Carried 5 - 0. <br />Motion by C. Watson second by C. FrieJrich to approve minutes of August 7, 1973 <br />meeting as submitted. 11 Carried 5 - 0. <br />Council discussed matter of regulating outboard motors on lakes within the village. <br />Tri-lakes area to receive questionaire on their local paper the Birchbark. Others <br />will be invited thru the press to advise clerks office of their thoughts on <br />regulations. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hjelmgren appeared regarding a division of property now owned <br />by Clifford Adkins. A percolation test was submitted and approved by inspector <br />R. Wier. Hjelmgrens advised to have Mr. Adkins request variance or have the property <br />platted. <br />Dick Johnson requested a vari-once to allow for excavation under house and installation <br />of a new heating system. Motion by C. Watson second by C. Friedrich to approve <br />variance to install new furnace and excavate and install required flooring. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />Advertisement appeared in Gazette that Tom Lindbeck can repair cars at his home. <br />This is residential area and °a zoning violation. Officer Neville to pursue. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />Joe Frolik appeared regarding establishing a TV repair shop at 3390 Lake Elmo Ave. No. <br />Council advised that they had no personal objections to this use of property but would <br />not approve until Charles Mix had complied with his agreement to clean up and fence <br />in area. Motion by C. Watson`2nd by C. Shervheim that if property cleaned up to sat- <br />isfaction of Mayor and Building Inspector before next meeting they can approve re- <br />quested use of building. Carried 5 - 0. <br />Ruben Lauseng had appeared before PZC on Aug. 14, 1973 requesting a Special <br />Use Permit to operate landscaping business on Rambo property section 3. MMption <br />by C. Abercrombie second by C. Shervheim to approve SVP subject to conditions <br />
