Village of Lake Elmo Council Meeting Minutes April 16, 1974 Page 3 <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Abercrombie to hire Dave <br />L�o ann for maintaining the recreation area across from Village <br />Halt and the VFW ballfield at $600.)0 for the season. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />Field Use C. Shervheim will review present filed use policy and have a <br />Policy: new recommendation at the May 7, 1974 meeting. <br />VFW Sunday Legion: VFW requests use of liquor license for Sunday April 21, 1974. <br />License <br />April 21, 1974: Motion by C..Abercrombie second by C. Pott to approve issuance <br />of a aunday Liquor License to the VFW for Sunday April 21, 1974. <br />Carried 4 - 0. <br />Howard <br />Mr. Springborn and son Galen gave a brief description of a <br />Springborn: <br />proposed 220 acre recreational tract in Section 4. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Pott to give tentative <br />approval to the Springborn concept. <br />Motion. carried 4 - 0: <br />Vali-Hi: <br />Mr. Kelley and Mr. Thill of Vali Hi were on hand to discuss <br />change of ownership of driv-in theatre. Both Mr. Kelley and <br />Mr. Thiil will be retained by new owners. Changeover scheduled <br />for May 1, 1974. <br />Motion by C. Abercrombie second by C. Shervheim to approve <br />transiner of Special Use Permit to new owner. subject to transfer <br />charge of $5.00. Carried 4.- 0. Office will <br />be advised of new owner as <br />soon as deal closed. <br />Schwartz- <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Abercrombie to approve <br />Martenco: <br />preliminary plat subject to compliance with conditions as spelled <br />out in the PZC minutes of their March 25, 1974 meeting. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />Tri-Lakes: <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Pott to authorize engineer <br />to spend 2 - 3 hours: to prepare an estimate on a Tri-Lakes <br />WAter Storeage Plan and report back at next meeting. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />Appointment to <br />Clerk distributed ballot to each councilman and mayor showing <br />Council: <br />the following six candidates: Calvin Brookman, Lehart Friedrich, <br />George Hedges, Jess Mottaz, Kenneth Sovereign and Norman Wendt. <br />Ballots were returned to clerk and the results showed 3 votes <br />for Calvin Brookman and one for Kenneth Sovereign. <br />Motion by C. Pott second by C. Abercrombie that Calvin Brookman <br />be appointed to fill out the shortened unexpired term of <br />councilman Robert Watson thru December 31, 1974. <br />Motion.carried 4 - 0. <br />
