Wright, Dennis Landucci, Tom Schumacher, <br />Mary Kasse, Galen Smith, Diane Selebrede, Pat Lau, Mrs. Danisch, <br />G. Breheim all voiced opinions relative to S,U.P, Points brought <br />up were. <br />1. Who benefits? <br />2. Dust and dirt <br />3. Safety <br />4. Hours of operation <br />5. Noise and equipment to be used. <br />6. Does personal gain outweight neighborhood objection <br />7. Top soil removal and reclamation. <br />8. Who will actually mine? <br />9. Conservation of trees - over 300 on property, <br />10. Protective fencing — Where - When? <br />Elmer and Wilbur Richert advised that they did not know who would be <br />mining. Demand for fill limited but use would not require a washer or <br />a crusher. Also that trees are a natural growth on the property. <br />A number of claims made required people to go on property; since no <br />one requested permission this is trespassing. Maintain that they <br />have farmed property for .30-40 years and property has no real top <br />soil. <br />Richard Johnson of PZC advised that he voted against SUP because <br />Richert refused to consider use of the access and egress road to the <br />South. Richert advised that this was across private property and <br />an easement would be required. <br />Mrs. Selebrede submitted petition with 74 names opposing issuance <br />of SUP to Mr. Richert. <br />C. Brookman moved to delay action until.we get further clarification <br />on points raised that should be included in permit. Second by C. Pott. <br />Mayor Eder abstained. C. Brookman and C. Pott voted in favor <br />C. Abercormbie and C. Shervheim voted against. <br />Motion failed due to tie vote. <br />Engineer advised that cost of projects is controlled to quite a degree <br />be availability of materials. He favors having material available from <br />natural local sources to help keep costs minimal. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Brookman to grant permit subject <br />to all of the conditions of chapter 9 of the proposed codification. <br />There will be no hauling in for mixing purposes, no washing and no <br />crushing. Permit would be for balance of season. New application <br />required for future operation. Mayor Eder again abstained. <br />C. Shervheim, C. Pott and C. Brookman voted in favor. C. Abercrombie <br />voted against. Carried 3 - 1. <br />Motion by C, Shervheim second by C. Abercrombie to define season as <br />ending Nov. 30, 1974. Mayor abstained all councilmen voted in favor. <br />Carried 4 - 0. <br />
