MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 17, 1975 pg. 2 <br />Board of Review-cont'd:Dayton Hudson Properties 37027-2200 Motion by Councilman <br />Shervheim 2nd-by Councilman Abercrombie to adjust acreage from four <br />to 2.8 and adjust value. 37027-2250 house should be removed (as of <br />June 19,1975 already removed from the county assessor's records). <br />carried 5-0. <br />VFW Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Pott to de <br />crease the land values on plate 37135-4560 from $7,420 to $6,000. <br />Carried 4-0 with Councilman Shervheim abstaining. <br />Meeting recessed at 6:30 PM. Meeting reconvened at 7:30 PM. <br />Brian Crombie:37004-0012 1974 tax abatement for taxes payable in 1975. Motion <br />by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to reduce land <br />value to same value as the parcel from which it was subdivided. <br />Should not be valued as a separate lot for 1974. Carried 5-0. <br />Mr. Crombie continued to claim irregularities in value on his house <br />and a house in Oakdale at 1692 Herron Lane. He further stated that <br />when he'complained to county assessor, regarding split level, that <br />assessor inferred that that was really piling it on (denied by Assessor). <br />Mayor explained action of the council relative to his property and <br />that action of the Board of Equalization was closed. His next appeal, <br />if he so chooses , is with the county board. <br />Demontreville Highlands:Represented by Roger Derrich and Robert Gottsacker. Mr. <br />Derrick claimed that it was a financial hardship to hold on to all the <br />property without the ability to sell any of it. Asked about the pos- <br />sibility of selling off selected lots while still maintaining 5 acre <br />sites. Specifically 1 site in each of lots 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 13. Motion <br />by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott that request be tabled <br />until necessary material to handle is availabl.e, (goal September). <br />Carried 5-0. Mr. Derrich withdrew his request so that he will be able <br />to reapply without the required 6 month waiting period. Mr. Derrick <br />will send a written statement on this to the city office. <br />Park -Advisory Board Recommendations: Chairman Dave Morgan present. <br />Councilman Shervheim and Dave Morgan went over the. proposal requesting <br />approval to proceed with several. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie that <br />council approve following: 1.To proceed, when time available with city <br />employees, with a 6-10 car gravel parking area north of the tennis <br />courts in the old Lake Elmo Park Area. Estimated costs $200.; 2. To <br />accept offer from Lake Elmo Jaycees to install a sheltered picnic table <br />in the old Lake Elmo Park Area with city to supply materials at an. <br />estimated cost of $1,050; 3. Request bids for entrance to Sunfish <br />Lake. Double road for entry and exit from the park area (estimated <br />length 2,000'). Bid to include grading and laying down a gravel base. <br />Estimated cost $13,735. A gate and sign are also included; 4. Install- <br />ation of 8,000' of fence to separate farmland from the park property <br />as agreed to in purchase conditions. Estimated cost $7,000.; 5. <br />Negotiation with Joseph Rogersrega.rding.sale of triangular piece <br />of city land (.11 acres) in old Lake Elmo Park Area in exchange for <br />certain conditions.; 6 Park committee to obtain specs and clerk to <br />request bids on installation of well at Pebble Park. Carried 5-0. <br />
