Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, July 5, 1977 <br />pg. 2 <br />Snowmobiles ---The Star Trail Association wants a route through Sun- <br />fish Park. Park Advisory Committee were deadlocked re- <br />narding approval <br />Pebble Park Tennis Courts: Installed and in operation. Some low areas <br />which Councilman Morgan plans to have the installer in- <br />spect and see if it can't be repaired. <br />Systems Statement --Motion by Mayor Armstrong 2nd by Councilman Morgan <br />to approve a 90 day extension for comments on the Tri- <br />Lake Interceptor Planning Report. Carried 4-0. <br />Special meeting July 6th., 1977 at 9 a.m. with Bob Ranta <br />at Metro Council at Council Facilities --All invited. <br />Buildings ----- Councilwoman Lyons advised that roof on pump house is <br />in need of repair. Council recommended that quotations <br />(2) be received to cover any roof work necessary on the <br />pump house, city hall and fire hall. <br />Fire Engine quotes: No bids were received on chassis. One bid <br />received on body from Kolstad Company, 2507 Walnut St., <br />St. Paul ---amount $ 5,355.00. Certified check in amount <br />of $267.75 enclosed. <br />Fire Dep't. Recognition: Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd by Council- <br />man Pott that cityrecognize retiring firemen bylresent- <br />ing them their helmet with an appropriate plaque. <br />Additional equipment (uniform) can be presented at <br />discretion of fire chief. A large placque should also <br />be made for disply at city office showing all retirees. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Lake Elmo Jaycees --Eric Skaiem--The Jaycees appointed Councilman <br />Morgan as the official Jaycee Watcher, as such he will <br />communicate projects which the Jaycees can participate <br />in. Appointment expires 8/1/78. <br />Huff & Puff Days --Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd by Mayor Armstrong <br />to accept Lake Elmo Jaycee Resolution proclaiming <br />August 20-21 as Huff and Puff Days in Lake Elmo. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Boat Landing on Lake Elmo Ave; Comments were received relative to <br />objections to the excessive number of vehicles parking <br />on either side of Lake Elmo Ave. and, in some cases, <br />violating government regulations regarding clearance <br />for deliverycf mail to roadside rural mail boxe-s. <br />The objection was not use of the boat landing but use <br />of street for commercial parking. <br />Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd by Mayor Armstrong to <br />request the county to post both sides of Lake Elmo Ave. <br />for no parking for the full length of the lake. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Mr. Lohmann to be advised that council will be discussina <br />matter at July 19, 1977 council meeting. He should be <br />advised that he will be required to furnish off street <br />parking for individuals using his access road. <br />
