Minutes of the Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, October 18, 1977--pg. 2 <br />Engineers Report: Survey on Lions Park still not completed. Will have <br />available for next meeting, however sod will be cut to <br />lower the ground level through the ditch to improve drain- <br />age. Sod will be cut by Mogren for $.15 per yard and <br />Park Advisory Committee will arrange for a crew to lay <br />the sod in Pebble Park. <br />Immanual, Ideal and First St.No.--Residents advised they <br />would send a letter to the council expressing their ideas <br />relative to requested improvement. No letter received. <br />Tablyn Park Culverts --question installation of culvert <br />through Hardy Driveway. City wants to offer an alternative <br />driveway and vacate current driveway. Mayor Armstrong will <br />discuss the options to Mrs. Hardy and report back to the <br />council. <br />Eagle Fork Culvert --Council agreed to sublet entire project <br />of installation but held up any action until Mayor submits <br />report on meeting with Mrs. Hardy. <br />I94 Alternatives --Detached vs frontage roads. Highway department is <br />conducting a study of alternatives costs of various pro- <br />posals; should be ready after first of year 1978. Lake <br />Elmo will withhold any decision until cost information is <br />available. <br />208 Report---L. Whittaker submitted a proposal for Resolution R-77-11. <br />"Resolution Requesting Further Study on the Lake Elmo <br />Tri-Lakes Interceptor Facility Planning Report and Initi- <br />ating Comprehensive Sewer Plan for the City of Lake Elmo <br />to compliment the 208 Reports". <br />Council reviewed the proposal and offered several changes. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Mayor Armstrong to <br />accept Resolution R77-11 as amended. <br />Carried 5-0. (Copy on file in city office) . <br />Planning Proposals --Five submitted --proposals should be reviewed and <br />try to consider those which are most likely. 1-1/2 hours <br />set aside on October 25th. to consider and determine who <br />should be considered. November 1, 1977 early meeting at <br />5:00 p.m. for interviews. <br />Park Plannners--Selection of planner for Metro park is down to three. <br />L. Whittaker asked for and received approval to write <br />Mr. Schwaub and tell him Lake Elmo does not want any <br />planning or development on Mears Farm acquisition until <br />the Economic Impact Statement has been completed. <br />Tree Program: If Lake Elmo is to have a program it must be submitted <br />by November 15, 1977. Proposal will be worked up based <br />on 1977 program. <br />Correspondence: Letter from Brookfield Company offering space for city <br />office, if the city is interested. <br />
