R-77-16 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SPEED <br />ZONES IN CIMARRON <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has received a <br />petition signed by over 100 residents of the Cimarron Mobile Home Park <br />requesting that the City Council, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 169.14 <br />(5), requests the Commissioner of Highways to determine a reasonable and <br />safe speed limit for the perimeter street in Cimarron, upon the basis of <br />an engineering and traffic investigation; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that a substantial question <br />has been raised as to the appropriateness of the present 10 mile per <br />hour speed limit; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has some question as to whether or not <br />the speed limit established by Section 327.27 of the Minnesota <br />Statutes is applicable to the streets in Cimarron: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Lake Elmo that the Commissioner of Highways be, and he is hereby, <br />requested to determine a reasonable and safe speed limit for the <br />streets in Cimarron, upon the basis of an engineering and traffic <br />investigation, all as provided by Section 169.14 (5) of the Minnesota <br />Statutes. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 20th day of December, 1977. <br />1 <br />Thomas G.
