R-78-27 -A <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION RELATING TO INSTALLATION OF A GUARD RAIL <br />OR PERMANENT BLOCKADE AT THE INSTERSECTION OF DEMONTREVILLE <br />TRAIL AND HIGHLANDS TRAIL IN THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo has received numerous <br />complaints regarding the traffic hazard potential currently <br />existing at the intersection of County Road 13, known as <br />DeMontreville Road, and Highlands Trail North; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears motor vehicles are backing boat -trailers <br />into Lake DeMontreville and blocking the access to both Highlands. <br />Trail North and DeMontreville Road causing a traffic hazard; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo has attempted to prevent the <br />use of this area as a boat launch by posting signs but these <br />efforts appear insufficient to prevent such activities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the <br />City of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, that the Washington County Highway <br />Department is hereby requested to install a permanent guard rail <br />or blockade to prevent the use of this area for boat launch <br />purposes while at the same time keeping the streets open for <br />traffic. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo on the <br />5th day of September, 1978. <br />Thomas Armstrong, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Donald Mehhsikomer, Clerk <br />
