Minutes, Lake Elmo City Council; January 16, 1979 <br />pg. 5 <br />Administrator®s Reports Whittaker advised the Council that Valley Branch Watershed <br />District was seeking two Advisory Committee members from <br />Lake Elmo; State Boards and Commissions appointments were <br />still open; and the City had been notified of a Tax Court <br />petition against it. <br />Resolutions of Commendations Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, that the Council <br />adopt Resolution 79.6, a Resolution commending Ed Westphal <br />for his service to the community. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Mottaz moved, seconded by Johnson, that the City adopt <br />Resolutions 79-7, 79-8, 79-9, and 79-10 commending <br />Dorothy Lyons, Lloyd Shervheim, Donald Mehsikomer and <br />Janet Sovereign for their service to the City as members <br />of the City Council and/or Planning Commission. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Pott moved, seconded by Armstrong, that the City pay the <br />costs of mailing and plaques for the outgoing Councillors. <br />Motion carried 5-0, <br />Conference for Newly Elected Public Officials: Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, <br />that the City reimburse Councillors Johnson and Mottaz for <br />registration at this conference. Motion carried 3-0-2 <br />Mottaz ,and Johnson abstained. <br />Emergency Pumping, 1979. Morgan suggested the Council petition Valley Branch <br />Watershed District to administer and assess emergency <br />pumping on Lake Jane and other problem areas in 1979. <br />After some discussion, Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, <br />that the Administrator be instructed to draft a Resolution <br />and Petition for Council consideration at the February 6 <br />Council meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Tennis Courts Lighting, Pebble Park: Morgan droved, seconded by Mottaz, that the <br />City advertise for bids for lighting the tennis courts at <br />Pebble Park. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Adjournments Mottaz moved, seconded by Armstrong, that the meeting adjourn at <br />11:00 P.M. Carried 5-0. <br />
