MINUTES, Lake Elmo City Council, January 2, 1979 Pg. 3 <br />Annual. Appointments---cont'd. <br />Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, to appoint Leo Gehlhoff to a one- <br />year term on the Park Commission, Motion carried 5-0. <br />Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, that the Council accept the recommen- <br />dation of the Park Commission for appointments to the <br />Commission. Motion carried 5-0. The following terms <br />are hereby established. <br />Bill Osborn ----- 3 years Ed Nielsen --- 2 years <br />Tom Monette ----- 3 years Sue Dunn ----- 9 years <br />Diane Trudeau --- 3 years Peter Werner-1 year <br />Dave Morgan ----- 2 years Al Martens---1 year <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong; that Elmer Richert and Bob Wier <br />assistant weed inspectors. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, that Fran Pott be appointed the <br />acting Mayor, to preside when the Mayor is not present <br />and assume all his responsibilities when the Mayor <br />cannot serve. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Mottaz moved, seconded by Pott, to reappoint Lawson, Raleigh and Marshall <br />as City Attorney. In discussion, Morgan indicated he <br />believed the f'itm should defer to another law firm when <br />matters concerning members of the firm or their clients <br />come before the Council, And, the Council instructed <br />the Administrator to advise the Attorney when they need <br />attend Council meetings. Motion carried 4-0--1. <br />Armstrong abstained. <br />Johnson moved, seconded by Pott, to appoint Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik <br />& Associates, Inc. interim City Engineer until the <br />prospective Engineer can be interviewed and appointed. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />ADMINISTRATOR°S REPORT: Whittaker advised the Council that bids for <br />insurance and the truck would be ready for Council re- <br />view January 16, 1979. <br />POTT moved, seconded by Morgan, to authorize the Administrator to dispose <br />of th surplus copier at the most favorable bid over. <br />$300.00. Motion carried 5-0. <br />CLAIMS: Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to approve.Claims No, 78916 <br />through 78939. Motion carried 5-0. Armstrong moved, <br />seconded by Morgan that claim No. 78940. Motion carried <br />5-0. <br />RESOLUTION 79-2: X.RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL STATE AID HIGhWAYS. <br />Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, to adapt Resolution <br />79-2, "A Resolution establishing Municipal state Aid <br />Highways." Motion carried 5-0. <br />
