LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL, JULY 7, 1981 <br />-3- <br />lights was costing more than the City is collecting <br />for use of the lights. The Council also discussed <br />revising the hours the lights could be used so that <br />they more closely follow park hours. This was refer- <br />red to the Park Commission for recommendation. <br />Novak moved, seconded by Morgan, to take out the coin <br />boxes in Pebble Park; and replace them with timed <br />switches. Motion carried 5-0. <br />AFTON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: The Council said they had no reservations <br />or objections to the Afton Comprehensive Plan; but, <br />asked the City Administrator to see if the Village <br />Historic designation had any special importance for <br />funding or zoning, <br />LICENSES: Eder moved, seconded by Novak, to approve a Temporary <br />Non -intoxicating Malt Liquor License for Schanno <br />Transportation, Inc. at Green Acres, and a Sewer In- <br />staller license for Hatch Excavating, Inc. Route'1, <br />Box 1, Princeton, Minnesota. Motion carried 5-0. <br />MISCELLANEOUS EXPENDITURES: Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to <br />authorize the Administrator to buy a saddle gasoline <br />tank for the portable pump and a gas powered weed <br />cutter for trimming in the parks. Motion carried 5-0 <br />FORM TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL: Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to <br />approve the Form to Address the Council, to be used <br />for those wishing to speak to the City Council at <br />meetings. Motion carried 5-0. <br />TEMPORARY HELP, MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: Whittaker explained that <br />Mr. Richert's illness and pending retirement had left <br />the Maintenance Department very short of help; and <br />that temporary help could be hired within the budget, <br />to assist through July and August. Mottaz moved, <br />seconded by Morgan, to authorize the Administrator to <br />hire temporary help for the months of July and August <br />for the Maintenance Department. .Motion carried 5-0. <br />TEMPORARY HELP, RECORDING SECRETARY: Whittaker explained that <br />Kathy Crombie was off in July and part of August; and <br />that he would like to hire a temporary help to take <br />minutes at meetings. Fraser suggested that a person . <br />be hired to do the minutes and that another person be <br />used to handle the other typing. Mottaz moved, seconded <br />by Morgan, that the Administrator be authorized to <br />hire temporary help for recording secretary. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />LEVY LIMIT SEMINAR: Eder moved, seconded by Mottaz, that the City <br />pay the registration fee for Council members who <br />wanted to attend the Levy Limit Seminar sponsored by <br />the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities, July <br />30, 1981, Motion carried 5-0. <br />OLINGER MINING /,NUISANCES: Eder said he had asked Dan Olinger to <br />
